    Permission for receiving a passport (destination - France). And of course Zygmunt Berling is the same Berling who commanded “Tadeusz Kościuszko” 1st Infantry Division at Lenino October 1943.

    But why receive permission? could any citizen in Poland apply for one at the ministry of interior?

    According to law, such a permission should be gained by reserve officers in case of applying for a passport.

    There is no rank mentioned. Name appears to me as: Andrzej Malitza.
