Hi Didier,
Badges of the Army Medical Training Center and 18th Field Artillery Regiment. Both are copies of pre-war era badges.
I am relocating this thread to the Polish 2nd Republic section.

Tony

Hello Tony
thanks a lot
how do you recognize good badges ? because of screw-back ?

Didier
Hi Didier,
Because of their interchangeability a badge’s screw back fastener has little to do with assessing a badge’s authenticity. Of course, a badge with a correct ‘original equipment’ spinner will have one positive going for it, but there are other more important litmus tests to pass – such as: quality, construction details, knowledge of production characteristics (some unique to specific makers), to a degree the patina and wear, comparison to known original examples, and, awareness of existing copies and their characteristics. It is also helpful to have experience handling original badges along with copies.
Regards,
Tony
