    Hello Robert,

Jerzy Pawlak's Book on the September 1939 Campaign does not mention him neither is he mentioned in Grzegorz Leszek Śliżewski Book "The Lost Hopes". The only mention of him in "The History of the Polish Air Force at war by Jerzy B Cynk mentions him on page 303 with reference to the Crash that killed him. More than likely after escaping from Poland and making his way to France he came over to the UK to be trained, his service record held by the PISM should confirm what actually happened to him Robert. No doubt some one will visit the Sikorski to either view or obtain a copy of his service record.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

I have quite serious doubts for this set.

The beret doesn't seems to be exactly a Gelfer model used by 1SBS, the missing lining where manufacturer stamp and date should be puts even more mist on it.

Helmet - I do not like the Mickey Mouse camo - not sure if ever seen a photo with 1SBS para wearing this kind of camo. Yellow eagle paint - you can see the yellow paint in the pittings. That suggest that it was painted long after the original corrosion to the helmet paint structure happened.

Where's the para badge? Documents? If they would be somewhere on same seller's auctions, I would maybe give him some more credit. However, in this case I would walk away.

    Cheers
    Tomek

Eagle on the beret is not that Paratroopers used. The cutting out of the lining I have not seen on any Polish paratrooper WW2 berets.
Only genuine things I see are the medals, but who really knows whose these are....
