    Hello Everyone,

    Up for Auction on the 8th and 9th May at DNW, is the following group of medals and badges :

    Auction items .. Good, Bad or Indifferent ?


    The Auction contains 2 groups of medals awarded to the following :


    1) St.Szer. Jan Turlej, Born 27th January 1909 the son of Jůzef Turlej, he served in the Military Police in the 2nd Corps, he did not serve at Monte Cassino and after the end of the war he came to the UK and was residing at Iscoyd Park Block 7, Near Whitchurch Salop. He died on the 24th May 1951 and was buried on the 26th May 1951 in grave Number 10998 at the Wrexham Cemetery.

    2) T. Kuźmiński, his address in the UK is given as 57 Aubrey Road, Small Heath, Birmingham 10. no further information was found, also included in the lot is 2nd Armoured Division Badge, 7th Armoured Regiment Badge Collar Pennons and Beret Badge, plus 2nd Corps Badge and SPK silver Badge.

    Up for sale on Allegro.pl the following items original IIRP and London Made post war items :

    The above items belonged to Podpulkownik Olgierd Kolpakowski, born 3rd February 1892, by 1932 (Rocznik Oficerski) he was serving with the 7th Engineers Battalion, under the command of Pplk Konstanty Skąpski.

    Promoted to Kapitan on the 1st July 1925 and by 1932 ne was listed as 31st in seniority.

    During WW2 he was a Major and a member of the CWA Commission in the Middle East.

    After the end of WW2 he came to the UK and settled down he died in the Polish Hospital at Penley in July 1972 and was buried in Wrexham Cemetery on the 14th July 1972 in plot 13433.

    Hi Konrad,

    This is a genuine government issue cross, called the Type 2 Knedler. And in very good condition.

    Unfortunately the majority of the records of those awarded the Cross of Valour are missing, so unless you have the award document that accompanied this cross the name of the original recipient will remain unknown.
