Hi Rene, the date I can see here on the label appears to be 1946? Is there another date somewhere or are we mistaken on the date?

    Cheers, Ade.
My apologies on the date, as I haven't actually physically played with the jacket for some time!
I have just pulled the jacket out of storage and the numbers on the label are S46 which is the Australian wartime manufacturers code - S for South Australia, 46 is the factory number -others are V for Victoria, N for New South Wales etc... so you get codes on uniforms and equipment like V446, N457, T55, Q73 etc.
So This jacket is undated but is still a WW2 example

One more thing- to my knowledge this code system hasn't been cracked, as after the war the Australian government was highly efficient at destroying these type of records! so at least "Esquire" is one that has been decoded. Not a common tag to have both a name and a code so it must be a transitional, so it could date between '40 & '41

Hello! Thare are some things that this jacket don't look good. Not polish buttons, i not believe that polish airman don't have polish buttons! Every original polish RAF jacket i saw had buttons with eagle. Can you take better photos of poland's badges? The sew of poland's look new. I don't know anything about other tabs. Yes, it's true that polish forces retailored uniforms, but i had never seen RAF jacket with shoulder-straps.... There are so many but, but, but... in my opnion it's combined. Regards

The flaming torch indicates training school and the symbols , the branch of the service.
To give you an idea of what I mean here is pics for Army Signals , QM, Engineers and Transport as examples.
I have had a couple of cotton RAF/RAAF ones over the years similar to yours but have no pics.
    Hope this helps .
