    Hello dibblah1

Reading about French FL and Warnham Court I am guessing that your Granddad served in the Independent Grenadier Company.
Could you provide his name and any pics of his photos, docs, etc?

Only several grenadiers were dropped into occupied France.

    Greetings
    Rafal

Here are three Polish para qualification badges attributed to CC

    Tadeusz S. Jaworski #125

    Ignacy Jakub Konstanty #162

    Rtm. Franciszek Koprowski #1718

Two are GR Tech and the other is Kirkwood & Son

#162 is stamped sterling. I dropped 125 and loosened the post, I will need to get a jeweler to repair it.

Thought I'd share these with you all.

One strange thing with badge no 125 (Jaworski).
It seems to be made in the end of war or after?

I know where is genuin badge no 0125 (renumbered) with combat wreath no 1942 and ID card for this badge ...

Were combat wreaths awarded to the cc post-war?

Presumably some wings from cc who remained in Poland after the war would be without combat wreaths although wreaths might have been due and assigned numbers in readiness.

Combat wreaths were mostly (only?) being attached in 1st Polish Para Brigade so untill 1947.

CC got wreath to his badge if he sent badge to the 1st Para Bde.

Prior combat jump into occupied Poland para badges and other personal items were given to deposit. If CC was killed during a war or stayed in Poland after he didn't get the wreath. Unless superiors took care to attach the wreath also for KIA.
