Here's 4896 from front and rear.
It's a WW2 Kirkwood .. with a GR-Tech spinner .. (not uncommon for there to be a mix up with spinners).

Price on a modern Kirkwood ... well they were selling at for about 14 - 15 Euros' originally at the Hartenstein about 6 years back ..

It's an absolute minefield looking for original 1SBS wings !!!
There are many copies .. many fakes out there, .. and some are really good ! .. and now they are getting VERY pricey as well !!

normaly he asked 350 euro's for it but i paid 200 for it, hopefully we can come to an agreement next time for the dagger he asked 400 euro

400 Euro's for the aluminium smooth handled 2nd pattern Fairbairn is a fair price, ... although the direct attribute to the Polish Airborne has only been quoted in publications about the knife.

I showed quite a few Polish Airborne veterans one of these smooth handled knives, and also a standard brass handled B2 2nd pattern.
All of the veterans chose the brass handled B2 as the knife that they were issued with ...

I don't think anybody has yet sorted out the true story of who exactly was issued with the smooth handled 2nd patterns.
(They may have been a special order for the Poles ... maybe the commando's ???? .... I don't really know the answer to that one .)
