Thanks to Gary J. for identifying some of these photos as forming the basis of a book within which they are contained. Gary can you remind me what the the book is called please. I wish i had a scanner then i would of course post up better quality pictures as of course there are many to this collection.
Can i also request that collectors kndly respond to these pictue on this site as opposd to my private email address as i want to stimulate some discussion about them they seem to have unofficially casued quite a lot if interest so lets get it on the forum for a discussin. Im particularly interested about Wolski's departure pictures from France one colleague has identified the pictures in the background as Polish Los planes maybe flown over after or during the 39 invasion, but i thought most of the polish airforce had been destroyed and Wolski certainly made through Hungary and the Balkans to France and England and not directly by airoplane. Rob,
Sorry for the time in getting back, .....
There is quite a lot mentioned on the web concerning Sikorski's visit to Swinderby.
The event was on 16th July 1941 for the official presentation of 300 Squadron colours.

There is mention (And a picture of the Polish Eagle/Airforce chequerboard on the hanger doors) on the site below ... page 32 of the PDF.

OK, to get this thread back on track . . .

As promised in the badge thread, here’s the display frame for the Anders/Harding 2nd Corps commemmorative badge grouping ( http://warrelics.eu/forum/polish-arm...s-ww2-9351-67/ ) Apologies for the weak pic. I had forgotten to take one with the glass out before closing up the frame.

I added another one of the 2nd Corps badges so that both obverse and reverse sides could be shown.

    Regards,
    Tony

    Hi Mariusz,

Your project is coming along well, and with your two trusty helpers involved I predict a resounding success! I would agree that a khaki green background would be better than the yellow. I'd take it easy on the poppies. One or two at most would suffice, although I am leaning towards the clean look without any poppies. Please do keep us posted.

    Hi Maruisz,

A very nice collection of Cassino medals, photos, and documents and of course the "Skorpion" breast badge

My personal take on creating displays is always "LESS IS MORE".

Because all of the items in the displays are of very similar size and aspect ratio there is no real focal point so the eye cannot focus on any one item and therefore the display can appear a visually confusing array. It is the same idea as having style sheets in web pages and word dcuments or newspaper pages where title headings may be in a large bold font then a subheading in a slightly small font size, opening paras in bold, text in roman and italics for emphasis etc. this helps the eyes and viewer decide what is visually more important and makes the information more easliy absorbed. This holds true for mounting displays.

I would either edit out most of the elements that only repeat the "story" in the display (what will you do if you add two more medals?) or create much more clearly defined groups within the overall display so each group has "room to breath" this will help IMO.

However— ask 10 people and you will always get 13 different views (one person will keep changing their mind!)

Thank you for your suggestions, and Less in that case is more, I wish I could do more LESS, I have managed to make focal point with five crosses, and second the eyes goes for three legitymacja. I have added the pictures to have same conversation, as for now the display is in my office, but I will soon display in schools. I have decided to make that display in memory of St.Saper sp.Wawrzyniec Sakuta. When I have find it out that Sp. Wawrzyniec Sakuta was KiA just after Monte Cassino was captured I waned to make display in his memory.
I want to spetaly thank Andrew for identifying all crosses, and all of you for encouragement and your suggestions. I hope you will enjoy it.
