    Monte Cassino cross

Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 42942 was awarded to :

    Surname : BRONIEWSKA

    Christian Name : MARIA

    Date of Birth : 12th July 1914

Army Number : (also found on Her ID Tags) : 1914-171-III

Unit : 3 Szpital Wojenny (3rd Military Hospital)

After the end of the war Maria came to the UK and settled near Penley in Flintshire in Wales where in 1955 she Married Zygmunt Maria Kultys. (Volume 8a Page : 1587)

No onto her Husband Zygmunt Kultys who after the end of the war settled in Flintshire and in 1968 was granted British Citizenship, the London Gazette entry is as follows:

Kultys Zygmunt Maria, Physiotherapist, Polish Hospital, Penley, Wrexham, Denbighshire, 16th June 1968.

Zygmunt Maria Kultys was born in Lwow on the 1st December 1909.

That was all that I was able to find on them both apart from the following information :

Maria Kultys died on the 13th April 1977 and was buried in Penley Cemetery, Zygmunt Maria Kultys died on the 24th April 1997 and was buried with his late wife at Penley.

Actually Maria Broniewska Kultys was born in Rawa Ruska, in 1914 when She was born it would have been a part of Austro-Hungary, Galicia, later Poland. Rawa Ruska is listed as her birthplace on the Grave marker, and Rawa Ruska was part of Lwow Voievodship.
