I'm working on a virtual exhibition on museedelaresistanceenligne.org about orders and medals of WWI for french soldiers. Do you know how many french soldiers had the Monte Cassino Cross.
And do you know the name of soldier who has the cross number 49688.

Your cross is not broadcast, only collectors.List with blocks of recent broadcasts and units. Last known to me MCC No. 48822.Rest Crosses were sold to auction houses, not avarded to soldiers.The last crosses have other ribbons.I have nothing in my list about the MCC award of French soldiers. Maybe Dear Andrzejku write something more about it.Add foto.

May I be the first to welcome you to the Forum, all but 2 Monte Cassino Crosses were awarded to Soldiers of the Polish 2nd Corps,

1) British Liaison Officer

2) US Liaison Officer

Unfortunately MCC Numbered 49688 was never awarded, held by the Polish Government in Exile in London and sold off in the late 1970's-1990 to various auction houses.

MCC was awarded exclusively to Polish soldiers serving in the Second Polish Corps. The MCC was granted to two foreigners: the American and the British, within the framework of the Second Polish Corps.Soldiers in expeditionnary french corps in Italie, have not been awarded this medal.Rather, they were granted after the war
Italian Campaign Memorial Medal.

Salut Fabrice, aucun soldat français n'a pas reçu ce MCC.MCC ont donné seulement aux soldats du deuxième corps du général Anders.Ils ont reçu deux étrangers dans le II Corps polonais: officier de liaison britannique et américain.Corps expéditionnaire français n'a pas été décocher cette médaille.Au contraire, ils ont été accordées après la guerre
Médaille commémorative de la campagne d'Italie.

Hi I have recently acquired a Monte Cassino Cross numbered 3197, I'm wondering if anyone on the forum is able to tell me anything about the recipient. I believe he was in the 7th Lubelski Lancers.

Hi thank you for your info in the mc cross. it forms part of a grouping that I purchased with a battledress. The battledress is to the 7 PU I'm wondering is this guy was in both regiments. The BD also has a ribbon for a KW cross.
