Thank you so much Andrzej, I think I'll do what you suggested and try and get Sergiusz' army papers! I just hope it's not difficult to get as I'm not the official next of kin and I'm sure I'll need lots of documents to prove my relation.
When the M.O.D wrote to me regarding my grandfather, they told me they had papers of Sergiusz too and sent me a copy of an application he made for a medal in 1949, it suggested he was in Italy which is why I presumed he fought with my gramp. I'll try sending a copy as I think you'd be able to make more sense of it! Kind regards, Tess

This Monte Cassino Cross recently sold on ebay was awarded to a Rifleman of the 3BSK, 3DSK, what's new in that it is where he was born that is interesting and unusual.

Thanks, his d.o.d is incorrectly shown as 6.12.1945 on some lists. I am currently working on fixing the errors (mainly due to poor OCR) in the 3DSK list.

Speaking of which can anyone help fix these 3 mistakes please?

GAC??? Zbigniew - - 1921/56 kan. 2. pal. - full surname unknown
HOP??? Michał - - 1908/4 kpr. 1. pal. - surname not known (I'm guessing the HOP start as that is the part of the list he is shown in)

ŚWIERK Konstanty - - 1916/55 kpr. 4. bn. KW/U - number of KW is an OCR error. Presumably a number more than 1.
