Hi Andrzejku98 - I have just seen your collection of Monte Cassino medals and I have noticed that one of them is my Grandfather! (Czeslaw Affek) He used to talk about his time in Italy when we were younger - his children (my mother and her siblings) would be so happy to see this medal. Do you still have it in your possession??

    Hello Hayley,

May I be the first to welcome you to the Forum, many thanks for your post yes I do still have the cross, I purchased it from Toad Hall Medals.

Your Grandfather Czesław Affek was born on the 14th September 1914, after he came to the UK he married Margherita M Giampietro in 1956 and died in Teignbridge in Devon in 2002.

I have attached the photograph of the Monte Cassino Cross awarded to your Grandfather below with his service details Hayley,
