With reference to Post Nr : 2049, I have found the following information regarding the recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 16054.
Strz. Franciszek Tunkiewicz
Fathers Name : Antoni
He was either a Regular or Reservist prior to the September 1939 Campaign, he was captured by the soviets on the 18th September 1939 in Jeziorany and joined the Anders Army at Tatiszczewo on the 3rd September 1941.
He died in Exval Hospital in Exminster in Devon on the 3rd May 1984.

Whilst surfing this morning, I came across the following which is interesting, because the recipient on promotion had his legitymacja changed to his new Rank.
When awarded the Recipients details were as follows:
Rank : Kapitan art.
Surname : Szpiganowicz
Christian Name : Władysław
Date of Birth : 9th November 1906
Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1906-123-III
Unit : 5KPAPLotn.
Monte Cassino Cross Nr: 22693
The Legitymacja is hand written albeit for the Rank which is typed and the Regiment Stamp.
He came to the UK at the end of the war and settled in London in 1966 he applied for British Citizenship which was granted, London Gazette Dated : 28th February 1967, Issue : 44260, Page : 2354. Entry is as follows :
Szpiganowicz Władysław ; Poland; Clerk ; 22 Montpekier Road, London, W.5. 22nd December 1966.
Władysław Szpiganowicz died in 1990.

Had a British Medal Group come into work this morning to a British Serviceman. However, with his medal was a Monte Cassino Cross serial number 23493.
Could you tell me who this was awarded to please?
It will be going up for auction on March 19th.

Many thanks for your post, I have been able to find the following information for you on the recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross Nr: 23493, when awarded the recipients details were as follows :
Rank : Kanonier (Artilleryman)
Surname : WILK
Christian Name : Piotr (Peter)
Fathers Name : Marcin
Date of Birth : 1924
Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1924-60-III
Unit : 5 Kresowy Pułk Artylerii Przeciwlotniczej (5th Border Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment)
Piotr was deported from Lwówska in 1940 arriving in Archangel on the 22nd February 1940 and left Archangel on the 15th September 1941 to join the Anders Army.
Unfortunately Ade I could not find anything further on him although I have one left to search
