    andrzej
lady on polski korpus 2 site has asked about her father , can you find any info for her please.
    this is what she knows
My father Jozef Jasinek born 19th March 1921 in Sofijowka, Werba, Dubno, Wolyn, Poland (now Ukraine) He reported to Polish military at Lille France on 24.4.1945 after escaping Germany working forced labour 1942-1945. Dads war records say that he was transferred to Italy where he enlisted in the Polish Forces with effect from 1.6.1945. was posted to 4 company, 64 Pomorski Infantry Battalion, 2 Warszawska Armoured Division, 2 Polish Corps, 8 British Army. He served in Italy 1945-1946 when together with 2 Polish Corps was transferred to UK arriving on 28.7.1946. He was finally discharged 22.12.1947 on absorption into Industry. I claimed his war medal 1939 - 45 but would like to also see if I could get a Polish medal? Any help would be appreciated by our family. My father never spoke about his life much as most Poles didn't. Thanks!!
