Many thanks for your post regarding the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 20883, from just one photograph it looks alright, when awarded the Recipients details were as follows :

Rank : Kanonier (Artilleryman)

Surname : JODA

Christian Name : Nikodem

Fathers Name : Aleksander

Date of Birth : 1908

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1908-78-III

Unit : 5 Wileński Pułk Artylerii Lekkiej (5th Wilno Light Artillery Regiment)

Nikodem was either a Regular or Reservist in the Army pre September 1939, he was captured by the soviets in Lida on the 22nd September 1939 and joined the Anders Army at Tatiszczewo on the 3rd September 1941.

Surname : JANUSZKIEWICZ

Christian Name : Michał

Date of Birth : 1897

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1897-33-III

Unit : 327th Supply Depot.

Hello Submariner,

With reference to your Post Number 2163, I can tell you that those Numbered 1,3,4,8,13,16,18 were not awarded the Monte Cassino Cross.

I have been in the past asked to answer lists like this and have done so, but unfortunately I stopped doing this when people started taking advantage of my good nature.

Therefore unfortunately I will not be answering your post this time
