Just a quick question. I am compiling the definitive searchable Cassino Cross database, but one thing struck me: the Polish army number come in three parts, eg 1909/34/III OK, so the first one is the year of birth and the Roman III is the Record Office (KU) holding the soldier's file, but what does the bit in the middle mean. I can't work out a pattern. My granddad's casualty clearing station (No.5) has:
    Szer. Ostrowski Franciszek 1909/35/III 41714
Szer. Ostrowski Franciszek 1901/5/III 41715 Is the /35/ and the /5/ based on the name or the year? It's been bugging me for years. Any ideas?

    Regards.
