Driving Licence first version,rank:corporal=kapral.
I checked this driving license there in 1943, the date is 2 January?
For comparison drivin licence cpl.MALCZYK Edward.Data 20th March 1941.Army number in 1941:7277 later:1914-21-III.Unit:SBSK.

A couple of close-ups of M. Mrugalski's license.
I'm not sure whether the date (22/II.43) refers to when the actual exam took place, or to the Division's Order no. 52/22/II.43.

Thank you so much Andrzejku. Because he was part of the 4 Bttn, 3DSK I thought he might have received the MCC. I am guessing he must have joined after being liberated from a POW camp. I got some of his military belongings. No documents.

I have checked the Register unfortunately none listed, though I did find 2 who served in 3DSK

1) Strz. Alojzy Brandys 1921-257-III, 1BSK, KW

2) Kpr. Teodor Brandys 1911-340-III, 6BSK.

That is all I was able to find for you Simon.

About MRUGALSKI.

Malczyk's driving licence- stamp.
On both of them is the SBSK stamp.SBSK was dissolved on May 3, 1942.
Maybe he was in SBSK?The inscription on the first card Mrugalski's driving licence is Carpathian Infantry Division.

You could check if you have been awarded the SBSK badge in this position, but I do not have it.

A new addition to our ongoing MCC story. There's nothing unusual about this particular cross. It was awarded to szer. Józej Majda and according to andrzejku98: "Monte Cassino Cross Nr : 41701, Szeregowy (Private) Józef Majda was born in 1904, Army Nr : 1904-90-III, Unit : Sanitarny Osrodek Ewakuacyjny Nr 5 (5 Casualty Clearing Station (stationed at Pozzilli). After the end of the war he came to the UK where he died in 1976 in Horsham, West Sussex."
What's interesting is that the Legitymacja was signed by the 5 CCS' commanding officer, Lt. Colonel Dr Stanisław Sikora, who is mentioned in Melchior Wańkowicz's "Battle for Monte Cassino", and his picture can be found in Vol. 2, on page 24.

Many thanks for your post, regarding your Grandfather Zygmunt Niedźwiecki, Can I ask Tony where did you actually find the Number 368272, I ask because your Grandfathers Service Number would match the number on his ID Tags.

I have only found one Zygmunt Niedźwiecki listed in the Register of Recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross and his details are as follows :

Rank : Starzy Strzelec Pchor. (Lance Corporal/Officer Cadet)

Date of Birth : 1920

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) : 1920-27-III

Unit : 9 Wysuniętego Szwadronie Dostawy Czołgów (9th Forward Replacement Tank Squadron)

Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 32197

The Squadron was under the Command of Major Włodzimierz Samira.

That is all that I have been able to glean for you at this moment, the only other Zygmunt Niedźwiecki, that I was able to find lived in Barnsley, is this the same person ?
