As regards Jerzy Braun, the medals from Los Angeles were won as a rower to a company with another Anders soldier and officer and later a designer at the Cassino cemetery Jerzy Skolimowski. He was also awarded the VM for bravery and intelligence activities in Yugoslavia, Greece and France.

Born on the 8th January 1916 in Zabrze in the provence of Opole, he died in Italy on the 12th May 1944 and was buried in the Polish War Cemetery in Monte Cassino in grave Nr 3-C-17, Aged 28, by the time of his death he had been promoted to Plutonowy (Lance Sergeant).
