A few Faces of Recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross
St.Panc. Kazimierz Majewski, 1917-61-III, Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 29387, Unit P4Pancerny, by the end of the war he had been promoted to Kapral when the photograph was taken.
Ppor. Aleksander Średnicki, 1905-160-III, Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 30881, Unit P6Pancerny, at the time of the award of the MCC he was a Sierzant Pchor.
The above photograph is a much better quality than the one in post 1752 posted by Artur, which was a supplement to post 257.
Porucznik Konsnaty Mazur, 1911-42-III, Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 1627, Officer Commanding 2nd Platoon, 1st Company, 6BSK, by the end of the Italian Campaign he had been awarded the Virtuti Militari Silver Cross Numbered 11630 and the KW.

He was a Regular before the war, during the September Campaign fought the germans but after the soviets invaded on the 17th September 1939. With his unit he crossed the Lithuanian Border into captivity on the 19th September 1939, hoping that the Lithuanians would release them to fight on in France.
But that never happened, the soviets took them and sent them to Siberia to work in the gulags, after the germans attacked the soviet union in 1941. Roman was released under amnesty and re joined the Polish Army at Tatiszczewo on the 4th September 1941.
This cross had previously been up for sale along with its original ribbon as shown below.
