Many thanks for your post, I have checked the Register of Recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross and also the Regimental History published in 1991, both list the Recipient as being :

Rank : Bombadier

Surname : Geppert

Christian Name : Włodzimierz

Date of Birth : 1905

Army Number : (also found on His ID tags) : 1905-71-III

Unit : 8PAPLotCie (8th Heavy Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment).

The Regimental History goes onto to List the Number on his British Star's (1939-1945 Star, Italy Star) Legitymacja Nr : 274

It also records the Legitymacja Number for the Medal Wojska (Army Medal) awarded to Bomb. Geppert Nr: 8394

it also records the 2nd Corps Badge & Legitymacja Number (unfortunately only 3 Numbers ) : 311.

Tony from your photographs of the Legitymacja you have the Rank and Name seem to have been removed and another name entered, is that the case.

Anyway I hope that the above information is of some use and help to you.
