    Hello Tony,

Yes you are right with Cross Number 48821 being the last officially typed on the list but there are also others listed written on by hand and others missed off eg. Major Jozef Czapski 48823 (if my memory serves me right).

    Best wishes

    Hello Submariner,

Many thanks for your post the details you requested are as follows:

The Recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered: 33548 is as follows:

    Rank: Kanonier (Artilleryman)

    Surname: PUPKIEWICZ

    Christian Name: DYONIZY

    Fathers Name: STEFAN

    Date of Birth: 1907

Army Number (also found on His ID Tags): 1907-62-III

    Unit: 9 Pulk Artylerii Ciezkiej

Dyonizy was captured on the 17th September 1939 at Zdolbunow and joined the Anders Army at Tockoje on the 2nd September 1941, I could not find anything further about him.

The Recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered: 33787 is as follows:

    Rank: Major

    Surname: ŁOTAREWICZ

    Christian Name: Bolesław

Date of Birth: 13th February 1898

Army Number (also found on His ID Tags ) Not Listed other than His Year of Birth 1898

    Unit: 10 Pulk Artylerrii Ciezkiej.

The History of the 10PAC lists him has Adjudant and that he served with 7PAL.

The 1932 Officers Yearbook lists Bolesław Łotarewicz has a Kapitan serving with 7PAL with KW and 2 Bars and the Mededaille Interalliee (WW1 Victory Medal possibly French Type?) He was promoted to Kapitan on the 1st January 1927, whilst serving with 2 PAC.

The only other piece of information that I could find on him is a listing for Bolesław Łotarewicz on Ancestry Death Registered in Chelsea, London in 1964.

That is all that I could find, I hope that it is of some use and help to you.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej
