Just passing along an expression of gratitude from Jan Kon's daughter.
    Chris.....

    Here's what she sent:

    "Hi Andrzej,

Thank you so much for the information for which I am grateful. My fathers path was a complex one and I wished I had listened more intently as a child! I have his medal but I think all documentation has unfortunately been destroyed. Once again, thank you.

    Kind Regards
    Rose Kon-Corbett"

    Hi Andrzej,

    Need your help again.
Could you be so kind to share the information about the MCC # for LUTOKHIN ISAI AKIMOVICH (born in 1914)? I translated his name from russian so variants are possible. I guess he served in 5 KDP.
    Thank you in advance!

I asked my friend who knows polish to translate this name. The correct variant is:
    Lotuchin Isaj Akomowicz.
The year of birth I found in his military ID issued by the Soviet authorities - so it could be incorrect.

    Hello artee1986,

I have checked 3DSK also and looked through Polish soldiers killed in ww2 also with no joy, the MCC List has the following names:

    Kpr. Mieczyslaw AKIELAN

    Kpr. JAN AKIMOW

    Strzelec Jan AKONOM

    Hello artee1986,

    I have checked 3DSK also
Hm... very strange. He stayed alive and came back to USSR. I saw his pictures he has aurochs/bison (symbol of 5 KDP) on uniform.
Assumed name? Interesting... but what for?
