My Grandad was a Polish Para. Can anyone help find out more?

Article about: Hello, I am doing some research into my Grandad. He settled in the UK after the war with His Ukrainian wife. He never really talked about the war but occasionally he would tell a few stories

    Hello Grooveshysta,

Shown below is a letter from the M-o-D showing what type of information you would receive unless you ask for both Polish and English.

You can also ring or email Mrs Barbara Kroll or Margaret Goddard at APC Polish Historical Disclosures +44 (0)20 8833 8603 or NOR-PolishDiscOffice@mod.uk and ask them what is required to obtain your grandfathers records, they are very helpful. Their postal address is :

Maybe I should have been more clear regarding the Mystery document. That's his picture but not his name. He is Marian Bednarz.

I think the use of false names was not unknown? Most likely to protect family in Poland. While Spain was neutral, it was more friendly to the Axis.
