    Hi Alex,
I can see that nobody wants to express his opinion ...

I am sorry but both - para and glider badges are copies/fakes.

Hi Alex and welcome to the forum,

Thanks for posting your collection here. I left the dirty work to our resident hatchet men regarding two of the three badges (no offense intended guys! ).

Alex, please don’t be disheartened. This forum exists to help young collectors avoid the pitfalls that all of us here have faced at one time or another. Continue to post here, preferably ahead of purchasing any item that you are not absolutely certain about. We’re here to help!

    Regards,
    Tony

    Hi,

Thank you for the informations. That 3 badges, I`ve got from one person who get badges from veteran (Cichociemny) about 16 years ago (that is truth for 100%). Maybe somebody gave veteran copies after war, I have no ideas, There is now no chance to find out. I was sure that badges were original): I was wrong. Thanks guys!

The best way to answer your question is by a direct side by side comparison to authentic examples. I actually prepared such a comparison for the para badge yesterday evening, but this site was down and I could not post the photos.

At present I am away from my home computer so will leave these comments ahead of posting photos later:

Re para badges, original issue badges were all serial numbered. My understanding is that official replacement badges and combat wreathes were marked as such – i.e “duplikat”. There are numerous differences in the details of the feathering, talons, and the wreath from original badges.

The glider badge, one of the rarest of them all, and one of the most copied, has an incorrect post, among other details.

Gary is our resident expert on the 1SBS insignia and will hopefully weigh in with his authoritative comments to either add to or to correct mine!

    Regards,
    Tony

    Hi,

Thank you Tony for reply. I did some research. I found some voluable informations. Polish renowned authors Mr. Zdzislaw Sawicki and Mr. Adam Wielechowski wrote in book (2007) entitled: " Odznaki Wojska Polskiego 1918- 1945 " ( Badges of Polish Army 1918- 1945), page: 592, that original para badges, where was 3 versions:
    1. Serial numbered
    2. Without serial numbers
    3. Marked as such: DUPLIKAT

, so maybe my badge is version no.2? anyway I will post more photos tomorrow. I want to make sure. Thank you.

    Regards,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

I would have to defer the matter of non-serial numbered para badges and their authenticity to Gary or GFC, who are both specialists in the area of 1SBS insignia.

Re the book you cite, while I have great respect for these authors and their work, this book is not error free. In fact, they acknowledge this possibility in the forward to the book.

Here’s the promised side by side comparison. Pay close attention to the edge profile, tail feathering, wreath details (especially at the bottom), etc.

    Hello Alex,
I have delayed posting an answer because I could see that you were very proud of the badges, and I didn't want to be the barer of bad news.

Unfortunately, all the previous comments are correct.

The Combat Para Badge (Field Parachute Badge), is a very very good copy of the GR-Tech issue wing.
The usual fault with most the copies, is the style and size of the numbering on the back, ... and in the case of your wing, nobody has tried to mimic the original styles.
If you look very closely, the "top hoop" on the combat wreath has just a little too much metal at the top right. This comes from the copied wreaths having a longer section, and when they are cut to fit the eagle's claws, this extra piece of metal is left behind, which is a tell-tale.

The three types badges quoted as numbered, un-numbered, and duplikat, actually applies to the combat wreath, NOT the badge itself.
The badges were numbered, or when a contemporary replacement was issued, were numbered and stamped "Duplikat".

I have attached a couple of images ..
    1) The three types of wreath.
    2) A contemporary "Duplikat" replacement wing.

    Regards

    Gary J.
