    Hello Gary,

This is not a military badge.
PANSTWOWA ODZNAKA SPORTOWA means STATE (NATIONAL) SPORTS BADGE.

    Greetings

    Panstwowa Odznaka Sportowa

    .. A Pre-war Polish Military sports badge.
Comes in three grades ... Bronze, Silver and gold.

Remember though, this is only a suggestion ...also this badge would most probably not appear on his war record in the West.

Thanks Rafal ... My Polish is just about non-existent !

.. This would also support the reason for the award not being on his military record.

    Regards

Oooh this thread took some finding! Glad I did though. As soon as I've sorted out a good picture (will have to sort out a good camera first though!), I'll post a pic of mine.

I've a couple of other Polish badges for identification too but I think I've found the thread for that.
