Article about: by Piwo2 . . .The Polish poster book was printed in very limited supplies. I had to pay dearly to get one from Poland. If you ever see one grab it.Does anyone know if it is being reprinted?

    Tony,

Thank you very much for translating those posters...I've a copy of Fire and Sword that needs translating....shall I drop it in the post for you to translate and return?

    cheers,
    Piwo
Not a problem Piwo. I'll get started the minute the postman delivers the book. You OK to wait until say 2017?

    Cheers,
    Tony

I recognized the Polish word for Canada by why a Polish recruiting poster directed towards Canada? Did they expect to recruit emigre or escaped Poles(?) who resided or claimed refugee status (if such a thing existed in Canada of the '40s). Or is this an attempt to recruit Canadians of Polish ancestry to join the Free Polish Forces? I'd expect that most sons and daughters of Polish immigrants would join the Canadian Army.
Hi Mike, this topic actually begs for a dedicated thread where it can be discussed in detail. It's an area of particular interest for me and one in which I have collected, and so has fellow member Piwo. So ahead of that thread’s creation here’s the official recruitment poster stipulating the registration of all male Polish citizens between the ages of 17 and 40 residing in Canada for military service as mandated by the Polish “Compulsory Military Service Bill of April 9, 1938”

    Regards,
    Tony
