Here are couple examples of british berets, no vent holes. These are surplus, away Post War. Color matches and after removing the inside label we have a smooth liner inside without any marks.

To put it all together :
Polish Officer that has a beret without any rank on it.... that is a no no. He goes to the trouble of having His name sewn in the Beret, but yet he does not know his Rank ??
Why the enlisted Air Force eagle on the beret ? maybe someone saw the current polish AF Beret issue and modeled this on it...
The watch : if He won it in Military Competition it stands to reason He would be given a MILITARY watch, a watch with hands that glow in the dark.

The Watch Company is still in business, once You have a serial number you can contact them and see when that watch was made, if it was made in 1944... or 1940.
