    Default Polish dog tag(s)

    Hello,
I am preparing an article about the Polish dog tags in a French newspaper about the Militaria.

A friend of mine sent me a picture. Unfortunately, we have no informations about this soldier.
Could someone give us detail about : Mieczeslaw KAPIK, born in 1915, army number on his dog tag is 209-III, RZ KAT ?

If you have dog tags, and that you accept to send me pictures, of course I am interested...
    Best regards.

    Hello ze-pole,

With reference to your post about Mieczysław Kapik, I have been able to glean the following information for you.

When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross his details were as follows:

    Rank : St.Szer. (Lance Corporal)

    Surname : Kapik

    Christian Name : Mieczysław

    Date of Birth: 1915

    Army Nr: 1915-209-III

Unit : 61 Oddz. Zaop. Art. Plot.

That is all that I have been able to find, I have tried the index of victims of soviet repression also but with no luck.

I hope that the above information is of some use and help to you.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej

I am not 100% sure these dogtags belong to the Paratrooper listed there.
