Article about: In my opinion this particular cap eagle was made by G.J. Garratt Toronto. Very unique, hard to find.

    Hi
    Congratulations on the find!.
As tony says s - very nice, made in Palestine polish ww2 Eagle - known as "Palestinian 40/41".
Perfectly legitimate to be found in Australia - as there are well documented examples of friendships and "badges swaps" between Australians and Poles while serving in North Africa. This could be one of the ways - it ended up down-under.
Can you please post the casted one? Perhaps new / perhaps known variant!

    Fellows,

Very good pictures of the official Eagle of 12th Podolski Lancers.

As far as my research goes, looks like there had been 2 versions - 1st with silver paint and 2nd without. The "silverised" version seems to be much less common.

The silver paint is same as used for the Stanley's PAF Eagle.

    Interesting Eagle,
I am not a specialist on the "Ryngrafs" / Gargets - so perhaps one of you knows more (orgin / period etc)!

Hey guys, so this is the first thing I want to share with you on the messageboard and ask kindly if you could possibly share some more details with me on this one. Is it real? fake? I've tried to browse through the thread but as a newbie I'm still not sure what to think of this one

    Hi,
Welcome on the forum and thank you for the post!. Your Eagle - is known as "1919 Pattern" - as prescribed by relevant Polish "MOD" at the time. This pattern was very widely use before WW2 and well into 40ts.
There had been many variations - with small differences and only a few producers provided marks. Your one seems to be genuine one.

Found in a lot of mixed Polish and Russian militaria: a prewar Druga Rzeczpospolita pattern Orzelek.
