Article about: In my opinion this particular cap eagle was made by G.J. Garratt Toronto. Very unique, hard to find.

“Good old topic” – Spink Eagle

I have noticed recently a number of "Spink" Eagles listed on the Ebay (3 listings in a few weeks).

Including the recent transaction (pictures attached) – price was high – sold today.

Interestingly some common features in all the recent listings!

    • Specific variants with the UK – loops “O” – fastening
    • Lower quality finish, comparing with some of the Eagles featured on our previous posts
    1. details of avers not as sharp
    2. surface of the revers not that well stuck (not smooth)
    • Material looks a bit “too fresh and shiny” - different than “oxidised” – period versions

I have to say – that I have some concerns regarding those Eagles.

But I could be totally wrong as it is difficult to judge without the manual inspection.

Can some of You post the Spinks from your collections to compare?
    What do You think?

As small side – by side – study of 2 types of Spinks
Se the Wings with the “mistake”
Again – as per my post above - I would like to learn more about the “omegas – versions”

    Any Thoughts?

The first one is on a officers hat, made by Gieves- I have a whole storyof the pilot Norbert Lewald- Jezierski from 300 Bomb Squadron

    Welcome to the forum!
I am very glad You joining and looking forward to your posts.

I know the shop and the owner well and I am sure we have met.

Actually, you specific interests – has come “just in time” as, clearly, we have not discussed well the Eagles of Polish Guard’s Companies in Germany.

    Subject requires more attention!
    Please post what you know!
