Polish Hat Eagles

Article about: In my opinion this particular cap eagle was made by G.J. Garratt Toronto. Very unique, hard to find.

Many thanks for the both posting the quality Eagles and debate that follows.

Very much appreciated and keep up the good work! - that is precisely what our Forum needs - uncovering new variants and debating them.

I have to say, this is first time I see, the Eagles that have been posted over the last 24h - and the a) Stalag's "spoon" b) BryG Sw and c) Warsaw 44 ones - are particularly interesting.

Looks like we extending the "POW topic" and adding the Home Army (AK) and NSZ etc - this is, I think, great - as both Formations are parts of "Free Forces" - please continue!

To go back to the subject - i have come across the pictures of an interesting variant - POW(?) / Regular Army (?) + usual questions; origin, manufacturer, period etc - remain!

Be very careful with trench art Many of the "POW eagles" are fakes.

For your viewing pleasure the Holy Cross Brigade [Brygada Świętkorzyska NSZ] badges.

The top badge looks like it is the very same eagle in my collection?
    I collect, therefore I am.

Yes, it is the one from my collection. I uploaded the image to the wikipedia page when I edited the article.

It is also here on WRF:

The Holy Cross Mountains Brigade (Brygada Świętokrzyska)

I have not seen another like it in many years of collecting.

A gem stamped in copper. A very rare badge like other insignia of the Holy Cross Brigade.

A further AK eagle of unknown maker:
Is it stamped iron or brass?

Below is another AK cap badge. This one comes from the area of Kielce. Note the open crown.
