I have just noticed a very interesting Album (bespoke made) – presenting various Badges etc of the 2 Corp
Very interesting work – and great collection itself – no question!

Interestingly, I have noticed a badge i do not know much about.
The last on the right in the first row (Panther on the Cross)
Looks like some sort of Supply Company.
I have not seen this badge in literature a lot therefore do not know much about it.

Anybody any info / better pictures

Dorava is correct, a badge that somewhere I read was issued about 30 years ago. This is the badge of the 14 Wielkopolska Brygada Pancerna Kompania Zaopatrywania (14th Greater Poland Armoured Brigade Supply Company), which I believe was made by Bialkiewicz.

    Thank You

Interestingly – This badge does not appear to be included in the contemporary literature, i know, on the Free Forces Badges.
I guess the volume of issue must have been very small.

Similar story as with the badge of 7th Antitank Artillery Regiment of 2 Cor. Allegedly it was made in 70 / 80ts and (interestingly) in Poland if I remember correctly.
There are pictures of it in the recent literature. Sadly i do not have one!

I have just received some very artistic pictures – so happy to share on the forum.

Very nice idea as to how the badges may be presented – with the original documents in background

Badge of 15 Lancers – where are the those Treasures nowadays?
I am having some sentimental thoughts!

To my knowledge there are a few types to 15 Lancers Badge
    - Made in Egypt on the basis of the Pre-war pattern (this one on the picture)
    - P&B – Italian made – I have actually never handled one! I would be very curious to see pictures
    - One with signatures K&L (if I remember correctly)

In terms of the number for the 7th DSK Battalion and how unique it is.

I am writing from memory (so sorry for some mistakes) – i will check in sources – the monumental book by Dr Mlotek – History of 3DSK (in 2 volumes) – but, i think – big picture i am right on the points below.

    1. The 7th battalion was part of the 3 Infantry brigade of 3 DSK (there had been 3 battalions in it) – 7th, 8th and 9th (Bolonski)
    2. The 3 Brigade was established late in the war - If i remember correctly November / December 1944
    3. The 3 Brigade was comprised of the youngest solders of Second Cor
    4. The actual ceremony of “przysiega” – i think actually took place in January 1945
    5. The 3 Brigade had 2200 – members in 3 battalions (700 each approximately)
    6. The really interesting statistic is the number of casualties between DSK Brigades (1, 2, 3rd) – in the 1 Brigade (1, 2, 3) battalions had casualties (dead and wounded) of approximately 400-500 per battalion. The second brigade (4,5,6) less c 200-300 per battalion. These numbers are obviously a function of time in combat (M Casino etc)!
    7. In the 3rd Brigade total casualties (if i remember correctly) was around 100
    8. Probably most “well known” infantry Battalion 9th (Bolonski) of 3 DSK had – if i remember correctly 5 casualties in the whole campaign and it actually was a reserve battalion and got to Bolonia 2,5 hours before the Americans.

Hope this simple breakdown is helpful.

Interestingly enough - Point 8 exemplifies the Power of PR.
Unassuming badges of 1,2,3 Battalions do not compare with the attractive badge of the 9th Battalion at all. However, they do have much greater Historic Significance.

    Unfortunately – i do not have 1,2,3
    Can anybody post pictures?
