This looks like it could be an armband used by the Armia Krajowa. Not seen one with paper eagle pinned(?) to it before. I like it. What can you tell us about the person you inherited the armband from...were they Polish?

It was my grandfathers. With this i have 2 papers/document stating that he joined the german army.

    1942: 90 motorized grenadiereservbattalion, Hamburg.
    1943-1945: 2. Marschkompani, Hamburg-Rahlstedt. 76 Grenadierreservbattalion in Norway.

The documents/papers are from a Swedish agency called "utlämningkommisionen" where he fled.

I have a photo of him in a german uniform, not sure if i want to upload it.

Other then that im not sure where this piece came from.

Edit: He was born in Poland.

Edit2: Says he was active from 18/12-1942 to 1/4-1945.
Never talked about his past to the family.

It may be that he was conscripted into the German army like many Poles were. If he served in the German army for most of WWII it is curious as to how he might have this Polish armband?

Very good question. I will try get more info.
Do you know what T.O.P 1944 rok means?

Apart from "the year (rok) 1944" no idea about T.O.P but 1944 is likely a reference to the Warsaw Rising 1944 as many Polish underground fighters wore this red and white armband. I will ask a friend about the T.O.P. abbreviation as it new to me also.

    The slogan under T.O.P.

"Niech Żyje Polska" is in English "Long Live Poland!"

Thanks, that information is of help...I think I might be able to find the answer for T.O.P. will report back tomorrow. Pretty sure now that your grandfather would have been conscripted into the German army as many Poles from Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia were.
