Found this laying on the ground after fresh ploughing. The soil was black from an old demolition so I'm guessing it was brought back and discardedFound in an English field!Found in an English field! after the war It was as flat as a pancake and I have very carefully straightened it out as much as I dare. I think it is police issue made from aluminium without any mark. Can any one confirm this and give me a year of manufacture.

    Thanks, Mark.

Hi Mark, nice find! Mo is correct.

These multi part construction buckles are usually pre war in date.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the replies guys. The field is not in a known area of a POW camp but my old school was directly opposite one believed to be used by Italian POW's so perhaps I should do some serious research as the area is still an open space.
