Was this buckle in use only between 1934-1936 ?

As far as can be ascertained, this buckle (this type of buckle, not just the specimens shown here) never was in use. Never introduced, never issued.

I have never come across one of these in worn condition. There was a real nice gold one at the SOS for $1200. I would have bought it in a second if I hadn't picked up my gold one 3-4 years ago. The gold one in Angolia's book sold at auction recently but I did not like the gold finish on that buckle. It just didn't look right.
