Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
Hi Phillip, thanks for posting this sad list.
We lost another Veteran from the XXI Indep Para Coy this past week: Bill Barclay. Bill passed away last Friday, Dec. 11th.
Bill become a regular Officer after the war and finished his service as a Lt. Col.
I had the pleasure of meeting him several times at the reunions.
RIP
Cheers, Ade.

Your welcome, yes it is going fast now, as soon as the march or april 2010 newsletter is in next year,I will post a new list
Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
Have you got John Edgar (XXI) on your list too? He passed away too a few months ago.
Cheers, Ade.
Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
this is the list of the November issue of the AVC, maybe he was not a member?
Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
John passed away in September:

Not sure if he was in the AVC?
But if you can add him to your lists I would appreciate it.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
Thanks for this touching post, years gone by I would go to the drill hall along Roman Road, Bethnal Green, next door to the fire station and attend the recce Squadron meetings, and talk to Henry Venes, amonst others, chatting about all and sundry, and a little thing he said about that BD Blouse and the need to look smart, " we sewed on little press studs on the inside of the collar tips, keeps 'em down" God bless Henry Venes.
Re: Obituary Arnhem Veterans November 2009
I recall Henry too. I still have the old Recce Video "Return to Arnhem" in which he features.
We must have met at some point over the years either at shows or in Arnhem?
Cheers, Ade.
