Near Perfect Edged Weapon Reproductions
This thread should be the most important, in identifying near perfect copies of German Edged Weapons. Member "Rancid66" has commented that a thread of this type would be informative and educational. There is in existence a Thread https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/dagge...er-art-257460/ depicting the most easily recognized and a horrible half hearted attempt of creating Third Reich Swords and daggers with 4th Reich technology.
Now we will examine with the help of our members of posting some hard to detect near perfect reproductions. I compliment those who have years of experience and those who are just starting out to carry on in protecting and discerning the differences between authentic and repro.
I feel this generation of collectors,,both young and old,, are the last outpost in protecting against near perfect copies being massed produced around the world. It is no longer an Eastern Europe problem,,but the technological advancement of today can reproduce through online images,,to the common work place. No more are these reproductions just from garages,,but on a corporate level !!
We all know these companies and their locations. We can not stop the fakers and scammers ,but we can stay one step ahead as in the end we will know the difference enough to help the new collector. To this day The Third Reich period still "Enamors" or captivates our imagination of a dark period in time.
We will begin with a few photos below taken from our archives. The Edged Weapon Repros on this thread can be comprised of totally 100% fake..to near perfect including period fittings to enhance the realism. These type of examples are the "Most Dangerous".. to both the new and seasoned collectors,,and they are getting better as time passes…now is the time to learn and study before a time comes where there is no difference to see at all. Prepare now!! We are the last generation of collectors in advanced technology of today.
Below is a standard Heer army dagger,, with period parts and with bogus etching on the blade. ...reference link https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/dagge...ierdolch-2393/
Lifetime member Nick VR makes a stunning comment in his reply to the thread..in post #5..."We must never leave our guard down in this hobby. Don't quit over this, it isn't worth it !!.............2 cool militariacool militaria

Here is an SS dagger with a mixture of good and bad. There is much about this dagger that is not authentic..the blade being mainly one of the issues. Also included is the supporting link to the actual thread. https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/ss-di...nstdolch-2359/

Re: Near Perfect Edgd Weapon Reproductions
I do have to say that this is an authentic Post war dagger made of period parts,, as this
"B&A" maker was a German firm for those who dont know this logo,, who tried to jump start their own profit margin by assembling daggers in Germany for GIs to take home,, for a price. Right off I dont know the true Identity of this maker,, but you will see alot of daggers made with this logo. This is a neat collectible from a post war German producer,,but is valuable to those who find this collectable. Thanks for posting this Vedran. Regards Larry
