I recently saw this buckle, not sure about it. What do other collectors think? Condition not the best but a buckle I do not see often...

This is a buckle you have to be careful with. The fake roundels are very good. You can add one to an original box and it is hard to tell. It is a leap of faith on one of these.

Thanks Kirby. Given the condition was not that interested, but good to know what to look out for I did now look at your examples as well...

I have had this one about ten years and I have posted it before and got positive reviews. I don't think this is the kind of buckle I wouldn't buy on line. These really call for a hands on inspection and it's still hard to be a 100% sure.

As per the email Jeff, I dont recall seeing one of these roundels on a non brass box, I will have a trawl through my archives when time permits

    Hello,

@weller , this are a very rar variation and i think it was not long in wear .

The example you show is IMO a cast fake roundel on a older original box .

The surface quality looks not like embossing .

@Kirby, must confirm you to say we must check it in hand to 100%

    But yours looks good ............
    Regards ,
    Markus
