Roger any chance I can get a good look at the prongs please? Especially where the prongs go into the sleeve, a photo like this would be good if possible?

Thank you, Markus. I was a bit concerned when I got it and it looked as though it just came out of the box. Not a scratch. A bit too minty for something that would be almost 75 years old.

Roger many thanks for that, I have seen these buckles and had doubts about them to be honest, now I have seen one close up and at angles that I want I will buy one myself now, nice buckle

Thanks, Ben. Whew. I was concerned when I unwrapped it this morning. Glad to get it 'vetted'.

I do so like this RAD buckle.

Non issued and pristine condition RAD buckles are still available and the buckle per se was manufactured in huge numbers by both RZM and non RZM licensed makers alike within a relatively short time frame.

Perhaps I am wrong, however I think that an OLC marked RAD is not often seen. This is odd and furthermore, whenever I have seen an Overhoff RAD, it is invariably date coded for 1937.

The RAD buckle which instigated this post probably started life with a maker and date stamped leather tongue being attached.

    Regards,

    David
