Neither am I. Rust is very active and new, either he still has it sitting in he rain or is a fake

I think it looks a aged fake, everything looks too new.

the rust is less than 3 years old and it is surface rust. I did enough body work on my project cars to know :-)

Agree with the above - fresh rust - unless it has been sitting outside in the wet to allow the helmet to re-rust anew, I would avoid it.

I agree on the rust issue here. I also used to restore cars (classics). I also clean a lot of relics with the help electrolysis. The light yellow rust looks like the rust that develops hours after taking an item up of the "electro bath". I think this is how the wire marks have been made. In the electrolysis bath.
