German helmet from Stalingrad

Article about: I've gotta try to get some of that stuff. It's amazing how it doesn't destroy the paint or decals.

Red spot could possibly indicate a Hiwi?

Do you ever see any very good condition helmets from Stalingrad Seb? Not dug from the battlefield but found in a house etc?

    Edited due to brain fart.

I guessed what a "rod spot" is Andy... but what is a "hiwi"??

It's short for "Hilfswillige", volunteers culled from captured enemy troops or the civilian population on the eastern front.

Oops, I changed it thanks Dan.

Slados is right on, Hiwi's did all sorts and often fought alongside the Germans against the Red Army.

indicate a Hiwi is idea, but we think that indicate "unter-officier artillerie" or like that... I asked other diggers who dig in Stalingrad and one said that any years ago dug up helmet whit yellow spot...

very good condition helmets from Stalingrad, not out of the ground, I've only seen in Panoramic museum "The Battle of Stalingrad"...
