Interesting M40 relic

I just purchased this relic for cheap as. Never seen one like it, absoloutley fascinating, must have a good story behind it.

And it is a M40!

Yeh I found it on e bay.......it's just so unusual, had to have it!!

Yea it is, I was very close to buy it my self, but 2 7,5mm kvk and case came in my way

That had to have been beaten into that shape. I guess it could have gotten smashed into some rocks. Very strange. Looks like one bullet through and through, then the other two holes are rust. The brain housing unit of the poor guy wearing the helmet must have deflected the trajectory of the bullet.

Very cool, takes alot to bend the buggers as well. Looks like it was bent this way before it started to rust. Very interesting indeed. Nice pickup

Oh yeh, I reckon this helmet was damaged in this way during the war, or during thr incident that caused it to take this shape....and for AU 27 bucks, you can't gi wrong, he had a few more where the front lip of a M 40 had been severed off
