M40 winter camo small calibre shoot?

Hi all!

Here i post my new winter camo M40 relic, with what i think it's a small calibre shot, the helmet was found in Russia, near the Smolensk region. What do you think?

The "smallest" caliber from that era which would penetrate, some "damage" and not come through other side is 7.62x25.

Then, it couldn't be from a ppsh41/pps43? could it be from a mosin/maxim/DP (7,62 x 54 R)? long distance, maybe sniper or maxim/DP burst?

Sorry Leonardol, i misunderstand you, then we can say that the battledamage is from a 7.62x25, PPSH41/PPS43 or so
