    Looks to me if the helmet was used as a TARGED , AFTER the war . Can the big hole be the size of a solid Caliber 16 slug ? And the opposide hole something as . 357 Magnum S&W ? Bob.

    By a second look it seems the small hole is NOT yet trough . Than it must be 9 m.m. parabellum . Bob.

    If it was worn when the battle damage occured, the owner never heard, saw or felt a thing.

    It could be but I think shrapnel hit the helmet during combat.
