It is an original relic lid. I hope it did not cost you too much.
Nice that it has retained some of the decal............
    Regards,

    Steve.

it was retail, but in my area these dont show up too often but it is consistent with prices around here.
As for the lid, is there any particular advice u can give me on storage and possible preservation?
Or if more decal may be hiding under neath?
Although it may not be the price (it was less than 100) or condition that many of you other collectors may buy it at, i wouldn't trade it for the world!!

    Stefan

Hi Stefan, it is a nice relic. Do nothing at all to it. Just enjoy it.

    Cheers, Ade.

    As Ade said.
Any action would dammage the left overs of the decal.
    Enjoy.

Yes, i agree with the others, just leave it as is. Any attempt to preserve of restore will just damage it further. This old girl is fragile enough without any cleaning attempts. A nice lid by the way!

what about actions to stop the rust or at least preserve the decal or the liner, such as an oil or something? And how should i store this? Thanks for the compliments!

    All the best,
    Stefan

Edit: Also should i try at least to clean up the decal area a bit of whats left of the decal ( and i know there no more decal what im talking about is more is a polish)? If so, what should i do and use?

The decal will be fine as-is. Oiling the liner will turn it dark at best and add to the decay at worst. Just store it in a dry environment and enjoy. Don't worry about it being a little 'tired looking', thats how it is. To get a nice, fresh looking lid you have to pay the bucks.

not looking for fresh lid, it is what it is, just something to seal up the rust or at least just on the decall to stop or slow further corosion
