    I really like them, as i just said on another thread. They have been worn by a soldier, seen just as much action as any complete helmet, so to me, are just as important as having a more complete one. Some one has to love them and im prepared to take that role! such a hardship i know

    It's a relic, so scrub that nonsense on the inside away and not worry about it. You wouldn't be altering the appearance any and certainly not using industrial grit to scrub it down to the bare metal. It's a nice looking lid with an attractive appearance.
