Need help to identify 4 german helmets
Here is my 4 relic german combat helmets.. But I have no idea if they are M35's, M40's or M42's.
I've used the German Helmets Quick ID Identify Charts but they all look the same to me...

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
Closer photos needed please. Of the airvents and the inside lip of the helmet rim.
I like your display on the stones!

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
Better photos of the helmet rims and the ventilation holes are needed here...I'm pretty sure the 3rd helmet down is an M42, judging by the rim...

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
SS Helmet - M35
Wehrmacht Helmet 1 - M40
Wehrmacht Helmet 2 - M40
Wehrmacht Helmet 3 - M42
Great displays though! The relics on the stones with the odd decoration scattered around is very effective.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Thanks, I came up with the ideas about the stones myself ^^

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
I'm not a helmet person so I hold my hands up if I'm wrong but to my knowledge the M40 had an air vent moulded as part of the helmet, the raised edge of which can be seen on the Wehrmacht helmets 1 and 2.
The M35 had an airvent but here was a seperately applied rim which as you can see on the SS lid, is missing.

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
Are you sure the SS is an M35 or 40? I think I see an outwardly bent rim... Bit its still hard to call on that one. The first two Heer helmets are M35, and the 3rd Heer is an M42. Monuir, can you take a picture of the inside edge of the SS, and also the other sides vent hole?

Re: Need help to identify 4 german helmets
The SS is an M35 as the entire airvent (which was a seperate press-fit piece) is missing. This situation is not possible with either an M40 or M42 as the airvent is a part of the shell.
