Article about: I do not remember, have I posted it before or not. Anyway, this is one of the first helmets I cleaned with oxalic accid. I got it from Germany (and yes, from German eBay actually!) in rusty

    I do not remember, have I posted it before or not. Anyway, this is one of the first helmets I cleaned with oxalic accid. I got it from Germany (and yes, from German eBay actually!) in rusty condition. Some cleaning and there is still some paint present. So You will not ever know what can be beneath of the rust.

    That's seen some action!.....
    It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

    Have You ever tried to do any damage to a helmet with a pickaxe:-) There was only surface rust so I quess it is impossible to make such damage with a pickaxe even if You were the strongest man in the world.

    i think someone has uploaded this image on the site before. But it shows a Pick Axe could cause the damage.

    And seems that You do not have to be extreemly strong either - the man with the axe seems to be older gentleman:-). Good to know but still I do not try this at home!

    No problem at all! We will learn something every day. I had never seen that picture before.

    But if the damage had been done while the helmet was being dug up, there would be bright metal around the edges of the damage, this does not even have new orange rust it's old darker rust.
