Opinions on this seller?
No idea if this is legal here or if I'm making a mistake, but
I've recently made somewhat of friends with a guy out of Russia who does metal detecting stuff and sells helmets.
I've wanted to know what you guys think about his stuff?
Recently he's offered me a discount on things if I continue to buy from him.

Hello, I don't buy on FB! Dangerous, and in Russia, far from Kansas if you have one problem !
-
I've bought one item from him a while back and it was deemed a good helmet by the community.
He has an ebay, and the only reason I want to know this is because I'm getting a tad bit paranoid about fakes and fakes like that.
Personally I suck at retaining much info online, but I might try my best to get good at looking at decals.
Also what about facebook groups? I've been in two groups and they seem like well meaning people.
And finally I would rarely buy something without asking the community's opinion on it since I'm green on this kind of stuff.
"fakes and fakes like that"
God I need to sleep

Only one comment really, FB is "social media" and social media is anything but social (in the context of being friendly and trustworthy) in many, many cases!
Be very very careful. If it goes wrong stand by for a chorus of "told you so"
Regards
Mark

I do try my best to post things here before I buy to have the best understanding of an item, and ask if there is a certain return period if I find out it's fake.
But I get it, due to the rise of the internet, it's a lot harder to know and trust certain items or people without really knowing.
Additions:
He also has a youtube and ebay if you want me to link any of them.

As much as it seems tempting to purchase ...I also agree with Mark Watchdogs thoughts.
For me quite a distance from Home and would rather be patient and wait for another alot closer to home. Anything can happen over a very long distance and is untrackable in most cases.
Be careful

Oh his packages are free shipping with tracking, just to let you know.
Sadly packages do get lost in transit and that's always a shame.

Most of them are over priced to me, after all they are only relic or semi relic condition.

I agree with Watchdog / Mark insofar as 'Social Media', the other problem is with these FB Groups there seems to be a lot of misinformation and false positives / negatives, I personally have witnessed some of the most atrocious conduct regarding items and authenticity, responders stating 'Fake' because an item is too new looking, or because they had never seen one before etc; I personally would stick to the original idea of vetting a piece here before purchase and utilize the 'Buyer Protection' that Paypal offers, just in case.. Can only agree , I avoid FB like the plague. Plenty of other venues to buy and sell.
