Anytime I see decal inside deep pits it gives me pause. I'm not a fan of this helmet.
A bit of artistry going on there Fabe - give it a miss I'd say .......

This helmet has been scrubbed quite a bit to clean it up. Pictures are pretty low rez so when I enlarge I cant make out much detail.
But I do see that it is not a full decal. The border of the decal give the appearance that the decal was painted around at some point and I see green paint dots on what appears to be on top of the decal.
So while I too don't like the pitting, I'm leaning towards it being OK (on the assumption that a faker would not take a relic, put a decal on and THEN paint around it and then scrub it down. Why not just slap a decal on a relic and then just scrub it without painting it). But happy to be proven wrong as always. We are all learning.

Thanks again guys, I'm staying away from this also.
However I'm looking into getting a "Stalingrad" helmet relic soon...
